Hello and welcome to my ASP.NET weblog. My little hideout for tutorials and easy solutions for every day challenges in web development. After years of  stepping over my dusty .NET books and finding all kinds of reasons why I shouldn’t waste too much time on it, I decided to take the plunge. This tutorial blog is the result of my learning experiences and discoveries along the way hoping to help the newcomers avoid some of the frustrations involved. Coming from a classic ASP and PHP with Dreamweaver background for many years, ASP.NET and Visual Studio seems rather intimidating at first to say the least.

Just like with anything else, learning and discovering on your own can be a slow and tedious experience not because it is so difficult to comprehend but rather because of the lack of guidance and mentorship along the way. Fortunately, there are many good books, forums, blogs and articles on the web that can expedite this process although I always wished I wouldn’t have to waste so much time finding what I needed. Not sure how long my inspiration will last but for now my aim is to create some practical tutorials to help others who are new to or transitioning from a different background to quickly get up to speed with some of the basic and common challenges involved in .NET web development.
